We are very excited to receive new printed copies of CAT’s brand-new publication, The Lower Lines. Authored by James Holman and Peter Kendall the publication presents a stunning glimpse into the defences of Chatham Dockyard during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
This visually rich publication boasts 175 detailed maps, illustrations and images. It is focussed on archaeological work undertaken by CAT at Brompton, and the fantastic opportunity it provided to study the development of the defences of Chatham Dockyard and the military innovations of the Royal Military Engineers.
