A blast from the past! The discovery of medieval inscribed stonework during excavations at the now Whitefriars Shopping Centre, Canterbury. Several architectural blocks of Caen stone were recovered in 2001. Some bear graffiti inscriptions, including references to a few individual monks, probably made whilst the stones were in situ in the walls of a dormitory.
