A birds-eye view at East Wear Bay

Take a look at this excellent birds-eye view of the site. Although excavation has only just started, archaeological features are clearly visible as dark patches and lines. You might be able to see the two parallel lines running from top to bottom? These are Roman ditches which probably marked out agricultural fields next to the villa.

Back down to earth, we already have some fine examples of part-worked and near-finished quern stones showing up.
