The sun shone as the Charles Lambie Developer Awards were celebrated last Friday afternoon. This break in the recent record-breaking wet weather was timely and fortunate as the event began with a reception at Carluccio’s before the assembled party moved across the road to the Roman Tower Exhibition for the presentations and unveiling of the new exhibition.

The awards were presented by the Dean of Canterbury, the Very Reverend Dr Robert Willis and recipients were joined by friends and colleagues including Charles Lambie’s brother, Andrew and Ptolemy Dean, architect, author and presenter of BBC2′s Restoration.

Pictured here are the recipients: Princess Olga Romanoff for supporting building recording work at Provender House; the Dean and Chapter for building recording and recent excavation in the cathedral precincts; UPP Group and the University of Kent for supporting archaeological excavations at Turing College; and Wienberger Ltd for continuing support of excavations at Claxfield Farm, Lynsted.
