A wrist guard protects an archer’s inner wrist from chafing on releasing an arrow. Notice the holes for attaching thongs.
A guard may have been attached to a leather wrist band when in use.
In this case, the wrist guard may have been ceremonial rather than functional. Service Road, Plateau 6.
