Illuminating the past – Enhancing the present – Inspiring the future

A Town Unearthed(ATU) Folkestone's vanishing villa

Canterbury Archaeological Trust is committed to encouraging enthusiasts and providing opportunities for people to get involved. Wherever possible we welcome volunteers to help both on excavations and in the finds shed and we have an active Friends organisation.

Our third series of archaeology courses starts in September. Book early to avoid disappointment!

‘Very enjoyable and I greatly enjoyed the enthusiasm and knowledge of the two archaeologists taking the course’
‘I knew very little before the course and feel much better informed now … please put on more such courses. Very enjoyable indeed’

We are involved with several on-going community projects. Our own, East Wear Bay Archaeological Project hosts an on-going field school each summer season.

Contact Andrew Richardson or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to find out how you can get involved.
